Data compiled by New Economics Foundation

In a recent exercise to assess the provision of loan finance available for the Social Enterprise sector in the region, NEF classified providers according to the level of risk they taken Social enterprise lending:

Low Risk, where the fund invests in lower risk, clearly bankable deals, typically on commercial terms and typically on commercial terms and typically secured.
Medium Risk, where the fund invests in more risky propositions that are just sub-prime near bankable, sometimes without security.
High Risk, where the fund invests in riskier propositions, typically not bankable and does so either at concessionary rates (Adventure Capital Fund) or higher rates of return that kick in if the project does better than expected.
