On the Move: Renaisi CEO retires

  • Kevin Sugrue has retired after 12 years as chief executive of regeneration agency Renaisi. The social enterprise delivers the EC1 New Deal for Communities programme on behalf of Islington Council and provides regeneration consultancy to clients across London and the south east. Former deputy chief executive Clive Tritton will succeed Mr Sugrue.
  • Alexandra Jones has been appointed the new chief executive of Centre for Cities. Ms Jones currently leads the cities team at The Work Foundation. She replaces Dermot Finch who left the think tank after being appointed head of public affairs at PR consultancy Fishburn Hedges.
  • YoungMinds, the voice for young people’s mental health and wellbeing, has announced Sue Berelowitz as its new chair. Ms Berelowitz, the current deputy children’s commissioner and chief executive of the Office of the Children’s Commissioner, will take over the role from outgoing chair Mike Shooter in September.
  • Peter Cleasby has been elected the new chair of the Plunkett Foundation, succeeding Susan Knox in the role. Mr Cleasby joined the foundation’s board in 2008 and became vice chair in February last year. He is a former deputy director of rural policy at the department for environment, food and rural affairs (Defra), and currently a director of a small consultancy business.
  • The New Local Government Network (NLGN) has announced the appointment of Simon Parker as its new director. Mr Parker joins the think tank from the Institute for Government where he is a fellow. He replaces previous NLGN director Chris Leslie, who was elected MP for Nottingham east in May this year. Mr Parker will take up the post next month.
  • Lachlan Smith has joined economic and social policy company Consulting Inplace as senior consultant. Mr Smith joins from the Learning and Skills Council (now the Skills Funding Agency) where he was a member of the national Integrated Employment and Skills Team.
  • Trafford Council has appointed Peter Molyneux as its new corporate director for the environment, transport and operations. Mr Molyneux currently holds the post of assistant director for environment at Bolton Council. He will replace retiring corporate director Gary Pickering, and is expected to take up the post in October.
