Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to provide a carer respite service to all adults including older people and people with a physical and/or learning disability or a mental health need. The service will include day and night sitting in the Service Users’ own homes. The Service Provider will be expected to deliver a flexible and person centred service to meet the needs of a diverse client group, ensuring their rights to dignity, safety and respect are promoted and maintained. The Service Provider must be registered with the Care Quality Commission. It is anticipated that there will be an existing staff workforce in place therefore TUPE may apply; such information shall be contained in the tender documents at a later stage. The contract term will be three years with an option for the council to extend the contract for a further period of up to two years (full contract term). The Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) document will be uploaded onto SCMS Alito website: https://scms.alito.co.uk on 24th January 2012. We will also be holding a Bidders Day Event on the 24th January 2012 for interested providers. Further details will be published on SCMS prior to the event. The deadline for expressions of interest and completion of PQQs via SCMS Alito website is 12.00 noon on Thursday 9 February 2012. Any PQQs received after this time will not be considered.
