The Future Jobs Fund is still open for business. Up to 6,400 jobs worth around £40m are being created in the region following the first three rounds of the Fund. The first jobs have already started. The region has got off to a strong start, but bids are still welcomed – and extensions to existing bids may also be possible. Under the Future Jobs Fund bidders can propose jobs to start right up until March 2011, though contracts are currently just for the first 6 months. Our successful regional bids, predominantly partnership bids led by local authorities, will create up to 5,350 jobs. Up to a further 1000 jobs will come from national bids that will operate in the region, from organisations such as Groundwork or the Football League Trust.
