This is a three-day workshop, which covers structures of government and statutory organisations, partnership arrangements, Local Area Agreements and developments in local democracy

The workshop will also cover the following features in the new Local Government, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 which might appeal to local residents and community representatives:

·         giving local people a greater say what local services they need and how money should be spent

·         giving local people the information they need about how they can get involved

·         giving local people the power to call their political leaders and Chief Officers of the local authority to account.
